We map what your job actually demands.
Getting back to the job you actually do, which means being tested against its real demands instead of signed off against a generic checklist.
What It Is
You got hurt doing something you’ve done a thousand times. Now the shift you used to work half asleep is the one you lie awake dreading. Overhead reaching. Ladders. Twelve hours on concrete. A job isn’t a generic list of movements. It’s your list, and it doesn’t care how you feel about it.
Work injury rehab starts with what your role actually demands. How much you lift and how high. How often, how long you stand, what you can’t set down mid-task. You get tested against those demands. Your plan closes the gap between where you are and what the floor asks. You’re one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit, so the person testing you is the person who knows your case.
A generic discharge checklist says you touched your toes and squeezed a grip meter. It doesn’t say whether you can carry a loaded box up a ladder at the end of a double. Restrictions here get written in plain language your supervisor can read without a translator. Your workers’ compensation file gets a return-to-duty status. It says what you can do now, what still needs work, and what has to change. Nobody gets a guessed date to make the paperwork tidy.
Tested against your job, not a checklist

A duty status people can actually act on.
Pairs Well With
Questions, Answered
Here’s the straight version. In a workers’ compensation case, information about your injury, your function and your restrictions does go to the people handling the claim. That’s how the claim works, and you deserve to know it going in rather than find out later. What gets reported is clinical: what you can do, what you can’t do yet, what we’re working on. How you feel about your supervisor, your shift or the day it happened is not clinical, and it stays in the room.
By testing you against your actual job, not a generic discharge checklist. First we get specific about the role: weights, heights, repetitions, hours on your feet, what you carry and how far. Then we measure whether your body does those things safely, and whether it can do them again tomorrow. Your progress gets tracked, so you always know where you stand. You’re one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit. We won’t invent a date to make anyone comfortable.
Then we say so plainly and keep building toward the full demand, instead of pretending you’re ready for it. Some roles have no light-duty version. If yours is one of them, your restrictions and your progress get written clearly, so the people deciding are working from real information. Whether your employer can accommodate you is their decision, and sometimes a legal one. That part isn’t our lane. Ours is getting your body able to do the work. Call us at (973) 453-0488.
